Back2Basics encourages its ‘family’ team members to give back whenever possible – whether that be monetarily or volunteering their time and talents – and the next example is no exception!
Our support advocate, Pam (Mau) Kuchera, has been volunteering her time to an amazing program run by the Isanti County Lions Club for more almost 30 years now.
The Isanti County Christmas Project collects and distributes Christmas gifts to qualifying families in need throughout Isanti County.
The program is organized through the Isanti County Social Services division and run and managed by the Isanti County Lions Club. The organization has been helping families throughout Isanti County over the holidays for more than 40 years now.
They collect donations on site starting the first week of December and over a two week period following that time. Then the week before Christmas dozens of volunteers, like our very own Pam, gather together to sort and wrap the donated gifts – getting them ready to pass out to qualifying families with children from zero (0) to sixteen (16) years of age. The collected and wrapped gifts are passed out to registered families at the Isanti Community Center the Saturday before Christmas.
The Christmas Project has a special meaning for Pam and has become a personal mission for her. Pam’s parents, along with her brother Joe Mau, have been members of the Isanti County Lions Club for more than 40 years. During that time, Pam’s mom took on the Christmas Project as one of her own. Pam, herself, started volunteering for the organization right out of high school and has done so – without fail – for almost 30 years now.
Pam’s mom passed on a few years ago and her father passed last year. She also recently lost one of her brothers to COVID-19 this year. But, Pam (and her brother Joe) continue to give back and move forward serving their community through volunteerism with the Isanti County Lions club.
For Pam, the Christmas Project is not only a program that she supports because she sees the need in the community she grew up so many years ago – it’s become a way for her to honor her family and stay connected with them through mind and spirit as well.
Pam has been lucky to have had the support of the companies she has worked for every year over the past 30 years – empowering her with the ability to take this time off to give back. This year will be no exception either. Pam will be taking time off from December 14th through the 18th to volunteer to help prepare gifts for the Christmas Project.
During this time, our Support@B22BPowerOf.com email inbox will be backed up by other team members. This will be done in an effort to support Pam in her mission of giving along side managing our other day-to-day business. As a result, the Support Email will not be reviewed as often or routinely as Pam might do, so we ask our customers, partners and vendors to be patient with us this week. And, if there is anything you need more immediate attention on, please contact your brand managers using their direct email addresses rather than the support email – OR – call our office at (763) 951-3913, Monday through Thursday from 10AM to 5PM.
The Isanti Christmas Project may collect gifts of toys the first couple weeks of December, they will take donations all year long. And, this year, the Christmas Project could use extra support. If you would like to learn more about the Isanti County Christmas Project and how you can help, please contact the Isanti County Lions Club.
