Meet Susie Jose, Owner of Carefree Bookkeeping in Minnetonka MN

Susie Jose is the owner / principal of local bookkeeping service, Carefree Bookkeeping located in Minnetonka MN.

Susie has been a bookkeeper and fractional CFO – serving Minnesota (and Midwest) business owners since 2010. Susie is a certified Quickbooks provider and is considered a full-service bookkeeping service provider with an extensive experience in the construction, retail, medical and service industries.

As the owner and lead at Carefree Bookkeeping, it’s important to Susie that she and her team provide services above and beyond the general industry expectations of bookkeeping. As a result, Carefree Bookkeeping also provides money management solutions and financial coaching for individuals seeking those services, including many local small and mid-sized businesses and non-profits.

Carefree Bookkeeping currently has a small team of specialists serving a variety of verticals and business sizes. The business is solely woman-owned and operated business with 90% of the workforce comprising of professional women that Susie classifies at Tier 2 or 3 Level Bookkeepers.

When we first met Susie Jose, she was attending one of our free community small business classes for brand development.

Susie had been in bookkeeping most of her life, and had a few consistent clients that provided solid, recurring income, but she was ready to rebrand herself and reach out to a whole new audience.

She had a dream to double her income within two years. In order to accomplish this she knew she had to grow from a one-person business to a business leading a team of bookkeepers with a strong skillset and a willingness to expand their knowledge base.

But, before she could do this – she needed the right connections and she needed to redefine her business. This is when Ms. Jose made two tactical decisions.

Join some local networking groups and start reaching out
Redesign her whole visual brand, and start reimagining her voice and her story and how she would get that message out

This is where Back2Basics comes in – and where we met Susie!

As previously mentioned, Susie stopped into one of our free trainings per an invitation from another local business woman we knew who was also attending. While at the presentation, Susie took meticulous notes on what it meant to create a brand – everything that went into it, and why it was important to get it right out of the shoot. Over the course of several months she attended other courses – “Setting up Your Facebook for Success” and “Why You Need to Focus on Google My Business”. It became quickly apparent to her at that time, that she didn’t want to spend all of her time trying to figure out other technology and platforms when she needed to focus on her new service mission and services. So, she called on Back2Basics one more time, but this time it was to help her design her new logo and website presence, then set her up on Facebook and Google My Business to the point where she could confidently take it over when she was ready —

AND she was ready!

Today, we continue to help Carefree Bookkeeping manage ongoing social media and Google messaging through a coordinated effort with Susie. She likes to put most of the content and graphic designs together herself – it’s therapeutic to her to not have to crunch numbers 24/7. She usually queues up a month’s worth, and then Back2Basics will help her optimize the content with appropriate hashtags, minor rewrites, use of the occasional emoji and link, and then schedule its distribution across Facebook, LinkedIn and Google My Business.

We also just tweaked Carefree’s logo design again to make it more pronounced, and we put together additional content when industry changes and newsworthy updates come up – that includes creating or optimize content on her website, designing business cards, and even putting together slideshows to use in online trainings or client presentations.

Susie gets SO excited when a new prospect reaches out because they saw her website come up in a Google search or come across one of her social posts — and we get excited for her!
