The owner and members of the Back2Basics family have always believed in giving back to local communities.
Whether we’re supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs, or we’re working with other worthy local organizations and leaders to improve the quality of the communities we serve, Back2Basics is always looking for new ways to give back. And, this year will be no different, but we’re looking for your support to help us do more.
What’s on the agenda for Giving Back in 2017?
For small business owners and entrepreneurs we’ll be scheduling more hands-on training topics; locally and online, starting with several classes in Maple Grove this January and Edina in February; with additional option expansions coming soon. So, be on the lookout for more details to follow.
With regards to general community initiatives, we will continue to support local organizations such as the Osseo Lions club (a part of a larger international organization), as well as smaller community needs at local schools and children organizations. Owner, Tanya Troska, has been personally active in her children’s local schools & church throughout 2016, and she currently volunteers as a coach for the 3rd/4th grade girls division of the Brooklyn Park Athletic Association, serves as a board member of the Osseo Lions Gambling Committee, as well as a board member for the American Heritage Girls; Osseo Troop MN0579, and she will continue these activities along with other community initiatives in 2017.
Because of Tanya’s passion for the health, safety, and social development of children of all ages, Back2Basics will also be working hard to help established and emerging non-profits around the Twin Cities that benefit children. One such organization we’ll be working with more closely in the coming year is Skills4Life; an organization dedicated to providing homeless youth in the Twin Cities area a path to success through hands-on curriculum, and life skills & job training. It’s a goal-orientated program designed to keep homeless youth focused toward a successful future and the goal of getting off the streets; or hopping from temporary housing to temporary housing and into a safe and stable environment.
So! How can you help with our Giving Back initiative?
There are two ways you can help Back2Basics Give Back in 2017! [pwal id=”151609029″ description=””][/pwal]
The first is to give directly to Skills4Life. If anyone has ever started a non-profit you know the road to success is paved with trials and tribulations. Many of the larger corporations they’ve approached have stated they would have been willing to donate to the worthy cause, but wanted to see a more financially strong portfolio in place first. However, with little personal revenue to get started, they’re caught in a logistical fundraising loophole that has left them stuck for over year trying to raise the $50K needed for their administrative start-up fees.
The 2nd way is to help bring awareness to Back2Basics so we can expand services and give more back. So, from now until the 30th of January (2017), for every NEW LIKE on Facebook and every NEW FOLLOWER on Google+, Back2Basics will donate 25 cents to Skills4Life in the first quarter of the year; up to $250. AND – for every NEW service contract between now and January 30th*, Back2Basics will donate 5% back to Skills4Life by the end of the first quarter; up to $250. This could mean a potential $500 in the first few months of the year for this non-profit.
So Let’s Get This Party Started!
We’re looking forward to Giving Back in 2017. What will you be doing this year to help your local neighbors?
